Many people remember two main events in 1958 Eritrea: the labor and students (there were many at various times) strike. There was an other event that passed "quietly". A protest letter written on November 15, 1962
On November 14, 1962, Ethiopia unilaterally abrogated the UN mandated Ethiopia-Eritrea Federation and annexed Eritrea. Even though there were other protest letter written during the Federal Period (1952-1962), however, the letter below is written a day after the above mentioned date. The Hoover Institution Acquires the Tom Killion Papers
Tom Killion was born on November 28, 1953, and was raised in Marin County, California. In 1975 he received his B.A. in history from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He went on to receive a Ph.D in African history with a dissertation on the Ethiopian/Eritrean labor movement from Stanford University in 1985. Eritrean Institute of Technology at Mai Nefhi, Eritrea
The first phase of construction (science building) was completed and the hand over ceremony was held last week. The second phase is the construction of the engineering building and the final phase is the construction of the school of education building. A few of us had an opportunity to visit the building on July 18, 2017.
